Zero Sum Zen is the debut novel from D. Patrick Sternala.  This novel explores several themes as in treatment for drug resistant illnesses, male loneliness, storytelling and building communities in situ.  Three patients, several clinical staff, a fair share of onomatopoeia and several sentient lights combine in this narrative to link disparate things like the yakuza, paper-rock-scissors and recliners into a fresh take on fiction.
